Dragon Ball GT has faced an uphill battle ever since its debut in 1996 and it had to follow the grandiose heights of Dragon Ball Z’s conclusion. Dragon Ball GT turns the clock forward five years from Goku’s momentous exodus with Uub during the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Dragon Ball GT’s introductory Black Star Dragon Ball Saga attempts to recapture the original series’ magic with a light-hearted Dragon Ball quest that even transforms Goku back into a child.
At only 64 episodes, Dragon Ball GT is easily the franchise’s shortest series. However, it still manages to cover a lot of ground and villains like Baby Vegeta, Super 17, and the seven Shadow Dragons all make for worthy antagonists. Goku may be confined to a weaker state as a child, but this doesn’t prevent Dragon Ball GT from indulging in overpowered energy attacks and new, totemic transformations. There are some extremely strong attacks that are wielded by heroes and villains alike in Dragon Ball GT, some of which are even on par with Dragon Ball Super’s godly techniques.

What Fans Don't Know About Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball GT’s polarizing reception may never fully disappear, but the series is full of fascinating trivia & details that have likely eluded fans.
User: General Rilldo
Dragon Ball GT covers plenty of interplanetary travel, which leads to the introduction of many new alien species. Machine Mutants receive a lot of attention during Dragon Ball GT's first two story arcs and General Rilldo emerges as one of the species' strongest warriors. General Rilldo grows increasingly powerful in his Hyper Meta-Rilldo and Meta-Rilldo forms, but he possesses his debilitating Metal Breath attack right from the start. Dragon Ball has featured several attacks that transform their targets into inconvenient entities. Metal Breath, however, is an energy beam that's released from Rilldo's mouth that turns whatever it makes contact with into metal.
This results in powerful individuals like Goku, Trunks, and Gohan getting turned into immobile metal. While in this state, the victim is unable to use any ki, which makes it even more dangerous. Rilldo's return in the Super 17 Saga reveals that he's developed his Metal Breath beam to follow targets and become even more versatile. Meta-Rilldo's application of this attack also allows him to control anyone who he's turned into metal and manipulate them like a giant wave of water in an action that he calls his Metal Tsunami. Fortunately, Giru -- and presumably other Machine Mutants -- can reverse Metal Breath's effects.
9 The Chocolate Kamehameha Turns Its Intended Target Into Consumable Candy
User: Majuub
Uub is still one of Dragon Ball's most curious characters and an individual with infinite potential that hasn't been delivered upon. Dragon Ball GT at least attempts to explore the character's growing strength and the experience he gains training with Goku. Uub receives a substantial power boost when he reunites with Good Buu and fuses together to become Majuub. Majuub doesn't look demonstrably different from Uub, but he does gain many of Buu's magical abilities, like his Majin Transfiguration Beam. Majuub synthesizes his new skills with his training with Goku in order to create the Chocolate Kamehameha.
This attack is performed no differently than a standard Kamehameha, only it turns its target into chocolate, rather than inflicting damage. As Buu demonstrated with his Transfiguration Beam in Dragon Ball Z, this can be a fatal folly and anyone who becomes chocolate can easily be consumed and killed. Ironically, Majuub's application of the Chocolate Kamehameha on Baby Vegeta gets reflected back at him so that he becomes chocolate, but this was part of Majuub's plan from the start so that he could attack Baby Vegeta from the inside.

Dragon Ball GT is a controversial chapter in the acclaimed shonen franchise, but the anime still features unforgettable characters who fans love.
8 The Super Flash Bomber & Electro Eclipse Bomb Are Apocalyptic Android Attacks
User: Super 17
Dragon Ball GT's Super 17 Saga may be its least successful story arc. That being said, it's quite satisfying to get the return of Android 17, who's transformed into a villain after he fuses together with Dr. Myuu's malevolent Hell Fighter 17. Super 17 is extremely dangerous and his battle against Goku spans the entire Earth because of the heights of their strength. Super 17 showcases a wide array of destructive attacks that are diversely dangerous. Super 17's Super Flash Bomber is a continuous energy bullet attack where he releases machine gun-like ki blasts that can span the entire planet.
The range of this attack makes it extremely dangerous, even if the blasts themselves lack a certain intensity. Additionally, Super 17's Electro Eclipse Bomb is an upgraded version of Android 17's Hell Breaker attack and it's a truly intimidating sight. Super 17 conjures a massive ball of dark ki that trembles with red electricity. Super 17's release of his Electro Eclipse Bomb results in atomic bomb-scale destruction that Super Saiyan 4 Goku is narrowly able to avoid.
7 The Shadow Dragons’ Nova Star & Nova Death Ray Are Super Saiyan 4 Level Attacks
User: Omega Shenron, Nuova Shenron
The Shadow Dragons become extremely powerful enemies for Goku in Dragon Ball GT's final story arc. Each of these villains boast unique abilities, all of which are attained by Syn Shenron after he absorbs the Dragon Balls and evolves into Omega Shenron. Accordingly, Nova Star and Nove Death Ray are fire-based energy attacks that originate from Nuova Shenron, but are also weaponized and improved upon by Omega Shenron during his battle against Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta.
Omega Shenron's version of the Nova Star and Nova Death Ray appears to be on par with Super Saiyan 4 Goku's 10x Kamehameha, which establishes it to be one of the strongest attacks. Its true degree of damage is unclear, since it doesn't successfully connect with Goku. As Dragon Ball GT's final fight, it's safe to presume that every attack that Omega Shenron utilizes is extremely strong.
6 The Revenge Death Ball Final Is A Dark Sphere Of Apocalyptic Proportions
User: Baby Vegeta
Dragon Ball has continually been chasing the high that was reached early on in Dragon Ball Z's run during Goku and Vegeta's inaugural fight during the Saiyan Saga. Vegeta's possession by the parasitic Neo Machine Mutant Tuffle, Baby, reignites their rivalry and even returns to the extreme spectacle of Great Apes. Baby Vegeta's strongest attack is his Revenge Death Ball, which essentially looks like a malevolent version of Goku's Spirit Bomb.
Dragon Ball has its share of apocalyptic energy spheres of doom, like Frieza's Death Ball and Supernova, and Baby Vegeta's Revenge Death Ball is just as dangerous and is capable of destroying the planet in a single attack. This attack becomes even more dangerous when it's utilized by Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta, where it becomes the grander Revenge Death Ball Final. Not only is the Revenge Death Ball Final a planet-destroying attack that looks deeply sinister, but Super Saiyan 4 Goku is able to absorb it and convert it into one of his most powerful techniques, the 10x Kamehameha.

Valid Reasons Why Fans Didn't Like Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball GT has a polarizing reception among fans, but there are actually some valid reasons that explain why it failed to meet fans' expectations.
5 Maximum Final Flash Becomes Vegeta’s Strongest Dragon Ball GT Tactic
User: Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta
Vegeta has an exciting, creative line of attacks that have steadily evolved since his Dragon Ball Z debut. Vegeta has caused significant damage with his Galick Gun, Big Bang Attack, and Final Flash maneuvers. In Dragon Ball GT, it's revealed that Vegeta has developed yet another ability, his Final Shine Attack, which he debuts during his battle against Super 17. The Final Shine Attack is a powerful single-handed green energy wave, but the Saiyan experiences a stronger variation of the ability in his Super Saiyan 4 form, which he names Maximum Final Flash.
Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta's Maximum Final Flash is a dual-handed version of the Final Shine Attack that's performed with the same choreography as his standard Final Flash technique. Vegeta fires this attack at Omega Shenron in tandem with Super Saiyan 4 Goku's 10x Kamehameha, both of which fail to injure their target in an intimidating reflection of the ultimate Shadow Dragon's power. Dragon Ball video games have further expanded on this attack with Vegeta's Super Final Shine Attack and Gogeta's Final Shine Kamehameha, but Maximum Final Flash is the strongest version that appears in Dragon Ball GT.
4 Goku’s Dragon Hammer Is A Strong Showstopper That Combines Two Of His Deadliest Attacks
User: Super Saiyan 4 Goku
Goku's Dragon Fist is an overwhelming ability that literally turns Goku into a Shenron-like dragon who proceeds to tear through the target's chest and restrain them with his coiled body. This bold technique is introduced in Dragon Ball Z's 13th movie, Wrath of the Dragon, but it makes several return appearances in Dragon Ball GT. Goku frequently proves that he's a brilliant strategist and the Dragon Hammer is the effective combination of his Dragon Fist and 10x Kamehameha attacks while he's in the ascended Super Full Power Saiyan 4 state.
Goku fires the 10x Kamehameha at the target and then flies through the attack's blast, where he activates his Dragon Fist. Goku's Dragon Fist transformation charges more power into the 10x Kamehameha attack so that the explosive impact is further insulated by pure energy. The Dragon Hammer would have killed Omega Shenron if not for the Shadow Dragon being able to regenerate due to Rage Shenron's Electric Slime Body Build ability.
3 Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta’s Big Bang Kamehameha Is Strong Enough To Challenge Omega Shenron
User: Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta
Dragon Ball's fusion mechanic opens the series up to some very exciting possibilities. Not only does fusion pool together two individuals' strength, but it can also result in stronger attacks that are a combination of both individuals' skills. In the case of Goku and Vegeta's Vegito and Gogeta, one of their strongest abilities is the Big Bang Kamehameha. Gogeta makes a surprise appearance in Dragon Ball GT's final episodes, at Super Saiyan 4 strength, no less. Everything that Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta does is on a whole other level and he completely dominates Omega Shenron in the process.
Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta's biggest spectacle is his Big Bang Kamehameha, which he actually creates through reversing Omega Shenron's Negative Karma Ball into positive energy. The attack is so powerful that it causes Omega Shenron to expel the Dragon Balls and revert back to his Syn Shenron state. Dragon Ball video games have explored even stronger variations of this combined attack, like the 100x Big Bang Kamehameha and beyond.

2 The Negative Karma Ball Cloaks The Earth With Toxic Negative Energy
User: Omega Shenron
Omega Shenron is Dragon Ball GT's strongest villain and he's easily superior to the combined efforts of Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta. Omega Shenron's most powerful attack is his Negative Karma Ball, which channels the power from his cracked Dragon Balls, which metastasizes into pure negative energy. This pure negative energy collects into a giant sphere which spreads toxic negative energy across the Earth's atmosphere. Omega Shenron releases the Negative Karma Ball in an effort to not just kill Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, but also destroy the Earth.
The planet's destruction would have been guaranteed if Gogeta was not able to reverse the Negative Karma Ball's effects. Even still, the Negative Karma Ball releases a nuke-level explosion outside the Earth's atmosphere. Omega Shenron uses this attack again against Goku and Vegeta, which nearly kills them both. There's even a prevailing theory that the Negative Karma Ball did in fact kill Goku and that he returns as something greater when he finishes off Omega Shenron in one final attack.
1 The Super Ultra Spirit Bomb Saves The World & Takes Out Dragon Ball GT’s Strongest Villain
User: Goku
The Spirit Bomb has been one of Goku's strongest and most heroic attacks ever since Dragon Ball Z's start. The Spirit Bomb is incredibly powerful, but its success is dependent upon its user gaining the planet's trust so that they're willing to donate their energy for the greater good. Goku has revealed stronger Spirit Bomb variants for particularly taxing circ*mstances, such as the Super Spirit Bomb against Kid Buu and Universe 7's Spirit Bomb during the Tournament of Power. However, Dragon Ball GT's Super Ultra Spirit Bomb is arguably the strongest of the lot and the only thing that can truly destroy Omega Shenron after everything else fails.
This attack becomes an extremely nostalgic experience for long-time Dragon Ball fans and characters from across all three series lend Goku their strength for his final attack. King Kai and other celestial deities also provide support and Goku's Super Ultra Spirit Bomb acquires energy that exceeds the planet. It's Dragon Ball GT's strongest attack, but also a true expression of Goku's unwavering heroism and everything that he's accomplished throughout the Dragon Ball franchise.
